Lake Powell

When I first heard that Platinum was going to have their end of the year party at Lake Powell, I wasn't planning on being able to go since I figured it would be too hard to go camping with all 4 kids.  Then we decided that if we left Madison at home with Papa and Gramie, it might be doable so we decided to go for it.  Camden still sleeps in his car seat so we figured it would be easy to fit him in the tent and keep him warm and the older girls were so excited to go.  The weather was fabulous the whole time-I didn't think it would be warm enough for the water but the kids were played in the water and on the beach for hours.   The food was great and surprisingly enough, we actually all slept pretty good in our cozy tent!  Unfortunately I didn't have enough hands to deal with the camera, so I didn't get any pics but we really did have a great time!  Thanks for the great weekend, Platinum!

Tooth Fairy finally came to visit!

Savannah was one of the only ones in her kindergarten class last year to not lose a tooth, but she actually was kind of relieved because she wasn't looking forward to it and was a little afraid it would hurt.  We were all excited to realize that she finally had a loose tooth and she spent days and weeks wiggling it, but wouldn't let us get anywhere near her mouth to pull it.  It was dangling for days and I couldn't believe it was still attached but finally it fell out all on its own on Oct. 22nd, and then the next one fell out just a few days later at school!  The tooth fairy was very generous with her first tooth and brought $2 for the first one and $1 for the second!  Savannah left her a very nice note, asking her to please leave the tooth and the money!

Saint George

The month of October has been a busy one for us, starting with a quick weekend trip to St. George.  A few months ago, Bubba got new tires on his car and the tire store gave us a voucher we could use for a couple of free nights in a hotel and one of the places we could stay was St. George.  We had talked about going there this year anyways so that we could take the girls to see The Little Mermaid at the Tuacahn Amphitheater down there.  Right before driving down there, we started getting snow at home so we were really glad to get warmer weather for a couple of days!  Although interesting to have all 6 of us in a hotel room for the first time, we actually all slept pretty well and survived!  We were driving around to find a park to play at while we were there and they happened to be having a small carnival/fair at the park that we found.  They only had a few rides, but they were free and since it was Friday and most kids were in school, there was hardly anyone there so the kids had a blast there.  That night, Bubba was nice enough to stay at the hotel with Madison and Camden, and I got to take Paris and Savannah to see the show.  It got a little chilly, but the play was absolutely amazing and all 3 of us had a wonderful time.  One of the hardest things for me about having two babies in the last couple of years has been the lack of opportunities to just spend time with my older kids without the distraction of the little ones, and when you have a nursing baby you can't leave very long it is hard to do fun stuff with the older kids.  The girls are just at such a fun age right now and I hope we get more chances to have fun dates together - it was a blast!  Unfortunately, we have been horrible at taking pictures lately but I do have a couple off of my phone from our trip!

Camden 5 months

This little boy continues to be the sweetest thing ever and we just love him so much.  At 5 months old, he is rolling over front to back and back to front.  We have experimented a little bit with baby food/cereal and so far he isn't a big fan but is starting to act a little more interested and he refuses to have anything to do with a bottle.  He still has the cutest dimples, he smiles at anyone and everyone who talks to him and is  just a mellow little guy most of the time.  His favorite thing continues to be his feet...he ALWAYS is holding on to them and has now started putting them in his mouth as well.  His eyes are kind of a dark grey color so I'm still not sure what color they will end up.  We love our little boy!
